Richard Steel Director Nicholas Phillips Associates
Richard Steel has been Director of Nicholas Phillips Associates (NPA) since 1993, having started working with the company in 1989.
He heads up a four person team which monitors the Parliamentary Committees in Brussels and Strasbourg and is responsible for advising clients on the day to day activities in the European Parliament. He is a specialist in parliamentary procedure.
Richard Steel is a long-standing practitioner in European Affairs, having graduated with a First in European Studies from the University of Dundee in 1983, which included a year at the University of Illinois. He then went on to the College d’ Europe in Bruges and from there did an internship (“stage”) at the European Commission before becoming a parliamentary assistant to two British MEPs for three years.
A keen sportsman, he played Rugby and still plays Tennis and Golf. He is active in his local Church.
Richard Steel is a European Union Citizen (British National) born in Scotland in 1961. He is married, with two sons and lives in Brussels.
